8 Warning Signs — when to see a doctor?
When medical clearance before training is essential: acute dizziness, new medication, falls with loss of consciousness, and five further specific situations.
Based on the expert standard Fall Prevention in Care (DNQP, 2nd update), the RKI fact sheet "Falls in Old Age" and movement recommendations of the DOSB for older adults.
Who created the checklist?
My name is Julio Abad Veria. I have lived in Berlin for nine years and work as a sports therapist and sports scientist. With a diploma from Cuba (recognised by ZAB) and 14 years of experience in inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation centres.
I support older adults with individual movement training — including home visits in several districts. Important: I am not a physiotherapist and not a doctor. I do not offer medical treatment. What I offer is training guidance — structured, patient, individual.
