Oncology Movement Support Berlin — gentle, scientifically grounded, in coordination with your physician
For people living with or after a cancer diagnosis who wish to integrate movement as a complementary measure into their daily lives — always with medical clearance and in close coordination with the medical team.
Important notice — please read before continuing
Movement support is NOT cancer therapy and is not a substitute for medical treatment.
A written medical clearance is strictly required before any training session begins. Julio works exclusively on the basis of this clearance and in coordination with the treating medical team.
This offering is intended for people who have received a recommendation or clearance for complementary movement activity from their treating physician.
What current research says
The Deutsche Krebshilfe and the S3 guideline "Complementary Medicine in the Treatment of Oncological Patients" (2021) describe physical activity as one of the most thoroughly studied complementary measures in the oncological context. The evidence base shows that regular, medically cleared movement in an oncological context can in principle have a positive effect on physical performance capacity.
Important: These scientific findings relate to movement in general — they are not an efficacy claim for Julio's specific offering. Every situation is individual; what is appropriate for one person may be contraindicated for another. Only your physician can assess this for your specific case.

Possible situations (always with medical clearance)
- → During an active treatment phase — when the physician explicitly recommends movement

- → With fatigue in daily life — gentle build-up of activity
- → To maintain muscle strength and coordination
When Julio CANNOT work with you
- ✗ Without written medical clearance — no exceptions
- ✗ When the physician has explicitly contraindicated movement
- ✗ During acute illness phases with severe general condition
- ✗ As a substitute for medical treatment, radiotherapy or chemotherapy
- ✗ For questions about the efficacy of treatments — that is the responsibility of the medical team
What you receive in movement support
Sensitive, patient companionship
Julio is a sports scientist — and he knows how to accompany people in challenging life situations. No performance pressure, no pace dictated.
Specialist training in oncology movement support
Julio has completed a specific continuing education course in movement therapy for people with oncological conditions. This is the foundation for a qualified approach.
Individually adapted plan
No standard programme. Julio develops every session on the basis of the medical clearance, your current condition and your everyday goals.
Home visits preferred
In this situation, the journey is often the first obstacle. Julio comes to your home — whenever that is the most suitable option.
Coordination with your team
At your request and with your written consent, Julio can communicate with your treating physician about the progress of the training.
Complete transparency
Julio tells you clearly what he does and why — and equally clearly what lies outside his competence. No false promises.
How movement support works
- 01
Free initial call (phone, 15–20 min)
Julio listens, explains his approach and clarifies together with you whether a programme makes sense for your current situation. No commitment, no sales pitch.
- 02
Submission of medical clearance
Without written clearance from your treating physician, Julio cannot start. This is not bureaucracy — it is your safety.
- 03
First session (gentle, 45–60 min)
Julio gets to know your current condition, your load limits and your everyday goals. The first session is always exploratory — no overexertion, no ambitious plans.
- 04
Regular companionship (frequency adapted to your condition)
Julio continuously adjusts intensity and frequency to your condition. There will be weeks when less is possible — that is normal and will be respected.

What training clients say
The following are anonymised mock testimonials for the launch version of this page. They will be replaced by genuine, data-protection-compliant accounts as soon as these are available with explicit written consent.
"My oncologist explicitly recommended movement, but I had no idea how to approach it on my own. Julio guided me gently — no pressure, no promises. That was exactly what I needed."
"Julio explains clearly what he does and what is not his role. That honesty helped me enormously. I feel somewhat more active in everyday life — and that is already a great deal."
Frequently asked questions about Oncology Movement Support
- Is movement support safe during oncological illness?
- Only your treating physician can assess that. Medical clearance is strictly required for this programme. With that clearance as a foundation, Julio can develop an individually adapted movement programme — always in close coordination with your medical team.
- Is this offering a form of cancer therapy?
- No. The movement support provided by Julio Abad Veria is explicitly NOT cancer therapy and is not a substitute for medical treatment. It is scientifically grounded movement support as a complementary measure — based on medical clearance and in coordination with the treating medical team.
- What qualifications does Julio have for this area?
- Julio has completed a specialist continuing education course in "Movement Therapy for People with Oncological Conditions". He also has 14 years of experience in outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation settings, where supporting people in challenging life situations was part of his daily work.
- Can I use the programme alongside ongoing treatment?
- That is for your treating physician to decide. In some phases movement can be offered as a complement; in others it cannot. Julio works exclusively with medical clearance and strictly aligns intensity and scope to the physician's instructions.
- Where does training take place?
- Home visits (preferred, as mobility is often reduced) or in a suitable studio. Julio brings all equipment. We clarify the setting in the initial call — together with you and, if appropriate, in consultation with your physician.
As a reminder: The offering on this page is scientifically grounded movement support as a complementary measure — expressly not a substitute for medical treatment. A written medical clearance is mandatory before any training begins. For questions about your medical treatment, please contact your medical team.
